VOLUNTEER INFO
In order to put on this event, we need tons of volunteers! This event would not be possible if it weren’t for the dedicated people in our community willing to give their time, talents and efforts.
There are a whole variety of jobs before our event, that weekend and all day on “race day”. Once you find a job you are interested in, you can sign up right on the website, in a matter of moments. This online volunteer registration will be available for you to sign up as the race date approaches. You will receive an initial confirmation email, then a follow up email closer to the event with more details.
Please don’t hesitate to contact Volunteer Coordinator by email (sicmarathonvolunteer@sicmarathon.com) if you are not comfortable with the website, experience difficulty with it or have any questions about positions. She will be happy to assist you and answer questions to help find the job for YOU!
We are also looking for groups of volunteers. Are you a part of a business, club, or charity organization that wants to get your name out there? Consider a taking a water station or volunteering elsewhere on the course and if you want, you can opt to wear shirts specific to who you are (instead of our volunteer shirts), so everyone there sees who you are and that you are a big help! Or if you just have a bunch friends and family, consider becoming a group. Group leaders will be responsible for communicating between their group and the coordinator. Email sicmarathonvolunteer@sicmarathon.com.
Volunteer positions are first come, first serve. If you sign up with as an individual, you may find on race day that the rest of the volunteers in that area with one or more groups. Also, participants can be volunteers as well, as there are plenty of positions at the expo the days and week leading up to the race. Nothing like volunteering to get you pumped for your race and some good luck by giving back!
Spread the word through email, Facebook, phone, etc to gather your friends and family and make a difference in Evansville at the 2012 “SIC”!
