Training Details: The 18-week full marathon training program (sponsored by Bob's Gym) starts on December 7, 2009 (with the first group run December 12), and is designed with both the beginner AND the regular exerciser in mind. Just a once per week, Saturday morning commitment, you will be given the tools you need to meet your fitness goals at the Southern Indiana Classic Marathon and Half Marathon. You can walk or run 26.2 miles after just 18 weeks of training, with just a 5 mile base. And for the fit person who signs up for this program, you will be motivated and given the tools to beat your previous best! This training program is led by experienced running coaches who will map out each week's long run to take you to the next level of fitness. Water and Powerade stations will be readily available, along with premium refreshments to keep your energy and spirits up through the entire run (or walk). Regularly scheduled speakers will give you insight on topics such as proper footwear, the importance of stretching, and nutrition for your best performance. Just $45 if you register (via postal mail) in advance, or $50 on the first day of training, you will be provided with an online training log, a team shirt, hydration and refreshments along the course and after each run (or walk) and 6 informational speaker events. Encourage your friends to get ready to achieve their dreams and sign up for the program together. Be a part of history. |

* Note: There is a 15 min/mile time limit for the Full Marathon Course. Due to road control and security reasons, if you are not on schedule to achieve this pace where the half marathon turns back towards the finish, a course official will guide you to complete the half instead of the full event. Please train with these pace guidelines in mind. Also, you are welcome to join the program after it has started, and will just be asked to pay a pro-rated which is the original price minus $2.50 for every week you have missed upon joining the program. |
