These warm-up events will be incorporated into the SIC Training program this year, so be prepared to work ...on your speed AND endurance in this all-inclusive full AND half marathon training program!
ADDITIONALLY, a KIDS' Series of running events accompanies EACH event in the WINTER MELT DOWN SERIES, with special incentives to get the whole family excited about fitness! Welcome to the Inaugural Southern Indiana Classic Marathon
and Half Marathon
Thank you for your interest in the highly anticipated
inaugural Southern Indiana Classic Marathon and Half Marathon, the
first Boston qualifying
event for Southern Indiana! The Board of Directors who are organizing
this race are so encouraged by the outpour of support from the
community from the onset of planning this magnitude of an event! This
race promises to be a "runner's race" because it has been organized
with the runner mindset, guaranteeing it to be the most fun,
entertaining event. Walkers are welcomed with
open arms to this event, (note time limit below) as we celebrate your
commitment to fitness through accomplishing the full or half marathon
feat! We hope you will be a part of history and run (or walk!) the
inaugural Southern Indiana Classic Marathon and Half Marathon on April
11, 2010! With a gym bag for your goody bag, an all you can eat
After-Party from 8am-3pm with a Michelob Ultra Beer Garden, and
entertainment all the way up to the awards ceremony, this is the
inaugural event people are registering for NATION-WIDE! We will be
closing the field at 6,000 entries and are tracking to close before
April!!! So register today to save your space in this history-making

Event Description
This blast of an event starts and finishes at the Vanderburgh
County
4-H Grounds, taking participants on a course that winds through
beautiful northern Vanderburgh County during the mild Southwestern
Indiana spring weather. The full and half
marathon courses have rolling hills, mostly at the beginning, with more
down hills in the second half of the course. Your friends and family
will cheer you on at the six fan stations that line the course and then
upon your finish, you all can enjoy the party in the park, with food
and entertainment for the entire community all the way until the award ceremony. This is an event you don't want
to miss!

Regular rates available: 1/01/11 - 4/05/11
Late registration available: 4/06/11 - 4/09/11 @ 9pm
Time Limit 17 minutes per mile HALF and 15 minutes per mile
FULL
Fees do not include GetMeRegistered processing fees.
Online and Postal Mail Fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Registration via postal mail must be postmarked by April 1, 2011.
Late Registration will continue until the field is filled at
6,000
participants. There will be walk-up Late Registration on Race Weekend
at Packet Pickup on Friday ONLY and ONLY IF THE FIELD HAS NOT YET

the beloved Camaro
of the founder of the nation-wide franchise, John Schnatter, will be the full marathon pace car
for Evansville's
first Boston qualifier event, the Southern IN Classic
Marathon and Half Marathon!
This iconic car will be available at the all you can eat
After Party and Family Fun Day at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center on
April 11, along with several other unique "rides" that folks from the
community will want to come and check
out! Entrance into this blast of a party (including the Michelob Ultra
Beer Garden and live music all day) costs just $2 per person.
- Course has been certified (3/6/10) all miles are marked on
road.

- Water provided at 13 aid stations along the course as well
as at the finish line.

(Fruit Punch Powerade,Mountain Blast Powerade, Strawberry
Banana GU, Chocolate GU, Blueberry Pomegranate Chomps, Strawberry
Chomps, Orange Slices, and
Bananas).
- USATF
Certified courses featuring Electronic timing and scoring. Mats every
5K for the half course, every 10K past the half and full split point,
and at the halfway point.
- The 2010 Southern Indiana Classic Marathon is a Boston Marathon Qualifier for the 2011 Boston
Marathon!
- Family Fun and an After-Party like no other After-Party in
the area
(sponsored by Buehler's Buy Low) after you finish your feat: live music
all day, bouncy houses for the kids, all you can eat breakfast, lunch
and afternoon snacks and a Michelob Ultra Beer Garden. This party in
the park will be a celebration the entire community can enjoy!

can join in the fun for just $2 a person, while all participants get in
free with their race number.

building, coordinated by Dr. Chris Gilkey and Dr. Josh Seiler!

dessert (from Great Harvest Bread Company!) and tea or water, all for
just $15 for adults and $8 for children. All proceeds from the
carb-loading meal, so invite
your family and friends to join you at the Holiday Inn Conference
Center for this all-you-can-eat buffet, as you prepare for your
